Irregular Fetal Heartbeat at 36 weeks

Went for my routine checkup and during the scan, my gynae detected some irregularities in heartbeat though the heart structural part shows no defect, did a CGT to monitor heartbeat and check for contractions. Baby is super active, now I’m just worried that something is wrong as she will assess the result and see me only next week. Has anyone went thru the same and if so, how was the outcome🙇🏻‍♀️

Oh I totally understand how anxious you must be feeling right now, that waiting period between appointments is really tough! From what I've heard, irregular heartbeat detected at this stage without any structural defect is actually more common than most people think, and many mums have gone through the same scare and delivered perfectly healthy babies. Someone in my mum group mentioned that the CTG your gynae ordered is really the right next step, it tracks your baby's heart rate patterns alongside your contractions to give a much clearer picture of how baby is actually coping, so the fact that your gynae is being thorough is genuinely reassuring rather than a red flag. The key thing people have shared is that when the structure of the heart looks normal on scan and baby is actively moving, those are both really positive signs that the monitoring is more precautionary than urgent. That said, every pregnancy is different, so if the anxiety is really getting to you before next week's appointment, it is absolutely worth calling your gynae's clinic to ask if they can walk you through the preliminary CTG findings over the phone, most clinics here are quite willing to do that.
