Irregular Fetal Heartbeat at 36 weeks

Went for my routine checkup and during the scan, my gynae detected some irregularities in heartbeat though the heart structural part shows no defect, did a CGT to monitor heartbeat and check for contractions. Baby is super active, now I’m just worried that something is wrong as she will assess the result and see me only next week. Has anyone went thru the same and if so, how was the outcome🙇🏻‍♀️

Hi Sis, I can really understand why you feel anxious, waiting one week after hearing “irregular heartbeat” is not easy at all. It is reassuring that the heart structure looks normal and baby is active, because a lot of the time irregular rhythm can be something temporary or something they just want to monitor more closely before making conclusions. For now, I would just keep tracking baby movements and if anything feels off like reduced movement or you feel uneasy, don’t hesitate to go back earlier or head to hospital to check. Hopefully the CGT results give your gynae a clearer picture and more reassurance for you next week.
