It seems like i have to choose between delayed cord clamping and cord blood banking, both claiming great benefits. I want the best for my baby, what should i do???

Personally, I don't see any benefit in private cord blood banking. There are very specific requirements in order to utilise the cord blood. Donating to the Singapore Cord Blood Bank is a more economical and generous choice. I conveyed my intention to my gynae when I am about to give birth to my baby no.2 after I studied about the benefits of delayed cord clamping, i.e. reduce risk of anemia. However, my gynae said it will cause higher newborn jaundice in Asian baby. Thus, in the end I decided not to perform delayed cord clamping.

What does gynae say? Not all gyneas are open to delayed cord clamping - would check with him /her first
