Hi! Finding a VBAC-supportive gynae is so important and it is great that you are doing your research early. SGH is a public hospital so the experience can differ depending on whether you are on the subsidised or private route. On the subsidised route you will be seen by different doctors at each visit, whereas going private allows you to choose your gynae and see the same person consistently throughout. Within SGH, names that come up positively among mummies looking for a supportive and patient gynae include Dr Chua Hong Liang, who mummies describe as willing to partner with them on their birth plan as long as it is safe for mum and baby, and Dr Devendra Kanagalingam, who has a good reputation for being reassuring and has a warm relationship with the midwives which really matters during labour. When calling to make your appointment, be upfront about wanting VBAC and ask directly whether the doctor is supportive of it and what their success rate is. This conversation early on will save you a lot of anxiety later. Would love for any mummies who have done VBAC at SGH to share their experience here too!

Hi! Thank you for the replies! I ended up changing from Dr Suzanna from KKH ( cause she wasn't supportive ) to Prof Su Lin Lin from NUH in my 3rd trimester. I had a successful VBA2C about a month ago and it was wonderful birth experience.

Try Dr Citra or Dr Su Lin Lin from NUH? Dr Paul Tseng also well known
