Nursery room

Subsidised route mummy here. I’ll be giving birth to my 3rd child at SGH and just wanna know if after giving birth, will they put baby together with us in the normal ward until we discharge just like how KKH does? 1st child SGH 2017 - Baby was in nursery room most of the time and they will only bring bb to me for milk. Being a first time mum, I felt so overwhelmed but baby being in nursery room really helps. I was able to get some rest and slept well during my stay in the hospital. 2nd child NUH 2019 - Baby was by my side. They only bring bb to nursery room for checking weight etc. I have already adapted the newborn pattern so I was able to manage it better. Going back to SGH for my third kid because I love it there.

I really feel you on this, and it's so sweet that you loved your SGH experience enough to go back for your third. I don't have firsthand info on whether SGH's current policy has changed since 2017, so it might be worth calling their maternity ward directly to check, since hospitals do update their rooming-in practices over time. Wishing you a smooth delivery and a good rest this time around lah, third baby you've totally got this.
