Should I really wait til I'm 12 weeks before announcing my pregnancy?

The reason why most women wait to announce their pregnancy is because the risk of miscarriage is highest in the first trimester. It is extremely painful for the couple if they have announced it to everyone only to lose the baby, which is why women choose to wait until after 12 weeks (the first trimester) to announce the good news. Of course, if you can't wait, go ahead! I would only tell my family and close friends first, though.
