Should I force feed my 8 months old, if he hasn't taken sufficient food?

I have always forced fed my baby being an overtly caring and fussy mom. I used to think that my baby will become weak if I will not feed him on time, and it will affect his growth. Though his health is fine but as he grew, he turned into a very fussy eater. Earlier since he was a kid, I used to force feed him but now that he has grown big, he cannot be force fed and he outrightly rejects most of the food items. I blame it on myself that perhaps if I had not forced fed him, he would have ended up hating most of the food items. SO, I believe that we should not force feed kids as it affects there eating habits very adversely.
