Is it safe to let baby sleep in the playpen's bassinet at night?

My boy is 7 and a half months now and sleeps in the playpen bassinet. From what I know, he's sleeping there till he grows too tall and heavy for it. No problem at all.

How old is your Baby? For newborn to 2months I feel that it's ok

He is 12 weeks old. Thinking of using the playpen as his bed to sleep cause we don't have a cot. I'm afraid of co-sleeping with him as we only have a Queen size bed and Daddy is a deep sleeper.
