Is it safe to have sex during the third trimester?

If you have a normal, uncomplicated pregnancy, with no history of preterm labour, it should be fine. You might want to choose your sex positions wisely though, to avoid discomfort. (No, the penis cannot touch the baby.) Mummies who have had preterm labour, or those with placenta previa, vaginal bleeding etc are advised not to have sex during the third trimester.
