Putting your spouse first or putting your kids first?

Kid then spouse! Coz a 3yo kid is very young & cant take care of himself while a spouse is a grown up man who can take good care of ownself in my opinion. But I don’t understand why hubby can’t understand this simple logic and he totally hated it, we even quarrelled over this issue a few times.
