Newborn heart murmur

Waiting a whole week with that on your mind is really hard, and it is okay to feel anxious. Many newborn murmurs do turn out to be innocent ones that resolve on their own, but there are also ones that need follow-up, so the specialist check your PD ordered is genuinely the right next step here. If before that appointment your baby shows any difficulty breathing, poor feeding, or looks bluish around the lips, please go to A&E straight away rather than waiting. You are doing the right thing by following through with the checks.
