We went through the process with Dr Lau Chee Chong, starting with the hearing assessment and discussions about whether a cochlear implant was suitable for my child. The surgery was followed by healing, activation of the device and regular follow-up for tuning and auditory training. It was a lot to take in as a parent, but having paediatric ENT care in Singapore gave us good support throughout the process.
