My son had it twice within a few months last year, and it was quite stressful because he'd wake up crying in the middle of the night. The first time we caught it early at the polyclinic, but the second round happened again despite being careful about hygiene and keeping him away from sick kids. I think it really depends on the individual child and whether there's fluid buildup in the ear after a cold, so might be good to bring your child to see the PD if it's recurring, just to check if there's anything underlying or if they need a different approach to managing it.
