Try to call the hospital for an earlier appt, highlighting abt your previous miscarriage. Best to go earlier ard 8 weeks cz by then likely able to see the fetus and hear baby's heartbeat. If not possible to get an earlier appt, u may opt to see a private gynae first if you can. If you haven't started on any prenatal vitamins, best to start immediately on folic acid as waiting for the 12 weeks appt will be rather late alr. The first 3 months is very crucial for baby's healthy devpt.

hihi! folic acid / obimin dont need to wait until W12 (or earlier) appointment at hospital to get as polyclinic should have prescribed during the doctor consultation. if dont have, suggest OP to go polyclinic again which will be faster than waiting for hospital appointment. :)

Can try to call and see if there is earlier appointment? Otherwise can try to get referred to another hospital first if u preferred the subsidize route.. thats what i did previously and i managed to get an appointment during week 8 instead of week 11.

i think you can call and insist on an earlier appointment, perhaps state your history as a reason. my preferred gynae was only available at week 10 but the hospital managed to assign a random gynae to me earlier at week 6. all the best!

is that W12 visit at a govt hospital? can consider visiting a private gynae first to put your mind at ease if it makes you feel better. dont worry too much! stress hormones is not good for pregnancy.

My consultation and scan at a private practice cost me about $300. It will be worth it because it is good to know if the fetus is safely situated in the uterus.

As others have mentioned, consider visiting a private gynae for an ultrasound first before your hospital appointment. It will put your mind at ease. And start folic acid asap
