My son has just started solids - can we order food for him at a restaurant or is it better to carry purees with us?

I agree with Stephanie; better to bring your own purees as you don't know what exactly goes into the food that's prepared. I usually have slices of fruits with me, or if I had time at home, I would bring slices of toast bread with apple puree on them. It keeps my son preoccupied while we eat.
