My mom told be about putting half sliced onion near our bed when any of us is ill.. She said it helps hasten recovery. Is this true? Has any of you tried it?

There is no doubt that onions have great nutritional value when consumed. The good thing about onions is that they provide minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins LESS the calories. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/276714.php I haven't read any scientific study that proves onions can absorb toxins from the body, without eating them. But according to this article ( http://healthybliss.net/healing-power-of-onions-can-onions-absorb-bacteria-viruses-and-flu/ ), when peeled and left in a room with a sick person, it could absorb bacteria or toxins away from the person. This may still be a theory to be proven, but, hey, we can give it a try and find out for ourselves.
