How to Stimulate Independent Standing and Walking

Any mums here whose baby was due in September 2023? My baby was due in September and still can’t walk yet. When we hold their hands, they try to take steps, but if we let go, they’re still scared to walk on their own. They can’t even stand without support yet 😭 Any tips on how to stimulate or encourage this, mums? 🙏🏻

Hi!! My baby was born June 2024 - can stand on his own + walk while holding on to furniture, I'm sure your baby will develop on his own timeline but these are some things I did to provide opportunities and encourage! 1. For standing, I bought these handles and attached to the cot. I only let him use it with supervision and he learnt how to stand on his own, holding side of cot within days. From there, I just kept encouraging him to stand and hold the side of cot before I pick him up (use less and less of the handles) and eventually he could stand on his own without any support. Still a bit wobbly but can stand for quite a while :) I'm not an affiliate btw hahaha so just sharing! https://sg.shp.ee/UrFHXYU 2. For walking, when he is holding on to the cot, I would stand at the other side with a healthy snack and encourage him to come over 🤣 eventually he got the idea and now walks around all four sides of his cot, and currently starting to walk without assistance sometimes (1-2 steps). If you are really worried pls bring up to paediatrician!!! All the best 🤍

We didnt do anything special, he just did his own things at his own pace. We didnt buy push walker also. He just used our furniture to cruise around and use dustbin to push around and walk. Started standing at 9m-10m then walking at 10m. Now 18 months running non stop. If youre concerned, can go doc for referral. They might check for any under developed muscles etc
