Baby at lower percentile
Mummies who gave birth to their baby full term and their baby now still at the lower percentile, did your baby turned out fine when they grow up? My 4 months old is only 6.3kg and 60cm and its small for his age and im very worried. He used to be 6.6kg but got sick and lost weight. He looks small physically. Sometimes i cant help but to compare him with other babies esp those in his ifc and same age. Altho i know we should not compare our baby. Can i just know how much your baby weight and their height at 4 months?
Mine is also at lower percentile and at 4months doctor mentioned if by 6months weight not increased might have to go to nutrition specialist. Doc also ask if i intend to start BLW for my child at 5month. My LO is starting on food now that shes 5months. She was 60cm and only 5.2kg at 4months. Initially tot she has increased weight cuz she was heavier when being carried but was shocked of her weight during weigh in. She was drinking well and all but not sure why the weight not increasing. Hopefully aftr having solids her weight does increase. Did doctor allow your child to start on foods?
Read moreMy LO has always been on the lower percentile side (the nurses at poly always said she’s short and skinny 😂). She was overdued (2.6KG at birth). She’s currently 2 and still 82cm and 9-10Kg while her same age peers are 12-13kg and way taller. She can still fit into 9 months clothings but other than that, she’s still healthy and the doctors didn’t bring up any issues regarding her nutrition. Don’t worry too much, can offer more solids once bb is 6 months old 😊.
Read moreBoth my cousin kids are 30th percentile since neonate up till kindy! The kids are active and great but super lanky and light. Meanwhile my baby has always been 97th percentile but only because fully breastfed stays home under my skirt 24/7 so honestly its both nature and nurture at play. Hope ur baby is doing great regardless 💖💖💖
Read moremaybe not so relevant to you cos my baby was preemie at 32 weeks and was low percentile on top of that. he's 2.5 years old now and only weighs 11kg but is a milk monster and has a huge appetite (though still skinny). overall no need to worry if baby is following their own curve and hitting milestones.
Read moreMy baby is 6.8kg and 64cm. Not much difference to yours. Doctor didn’t say anything and my baby seems to be doing well & active as per normal. Dont think so much as long as your baby is doing fine and in good health 😊
