Hi mummies, wanted to find out if any of your 2013 babies swim and always suffer with a block/runny nose? Subsequently, the lo might come down with a cough or a congestion followed by even bronchitis? If so, how do you deal with it to aid them in their swimming journey? I spoke with the pd, and the only advice given was to wash the chlorine off with a nasal spray, which I have been doing. It doesn't seem to effective. If someone has found a way around this, you could be my kid's lifesaver. Thanks in advance.

Could it be that she is cold after the swim? Probably gets cold easily thus all the sinus issues. I rmbr when i was young, i would have bad nose block but i loved swimming. I would take a hot shower, drink something hot immediately. Basically warm my body up really quickly

I wrap her up immediately when she comes out of the water with 2 towels. we head for a warm showet nearlt immediately. after a year of observation I realised it's irregardless of how cold or warm the temp of the pool is. how sunny or overcast the sky is. she gets this bad bout of nose run. sometimes it last for a night and disappears....other times it is just a call for concern like bronchitis or viral cold. think what the other mummies suggested on sinus rinse or nose irrigation is the way to go. but now I only need to convince her to do it.

My boy also seems to face the same problem as you. But i never did anything. The thing is how do you know it's due to the swimming?

Because it is immediately after her swimming lessons. she has lessons every week. I have been making this observation for nearly a year now

my boy has swimming lessons too. but i haven't noticed. maybe i should start monitoring. he keeps having the flu bug too.

You may want to try using the Sterimar sea salt nasal spray.

i used that. not as effective. thanks for the suggestion though.
