Brown discharge

Hi mummies, I'm currently 7 weeks and second pregnancy. I previously miscarried at 21 weeks last year. This pregnancy around my 5th week i saw brown discharge on my liner about 20cents size. I have yet to go for my first appointment then so I called the clinic. Doctor did a vaginal scan, saw a gestational sac. Baby was very tiny hiding at the far most corner of the gestational sac. Doc said seems like a miscarriage is on the way or a threatened miscarriage. That was the only brown discharge I had. There was a little brown clumps too when Doctor removed the vaginal tube from below. 2 days later I had very light brown discharge. Also very tiny spot. Doc gave me progesterone pills. Take 2. 2 times a day. I've been taking it. Currently having severe food aversion. I can't seem to eat anything or keep anything down. I feel very nauseous. Not much vomiting but super nauseous. Everyday I'm worried. My appointment date got pushed to 2 weeks ahead. I have a toddler. Super active and clingy. He wants me to carry and I really feel so scared to carry him too. And that makes me feel so bad and terrible. Has anyone had brown discharge at 7 weeks?

Sending you a big hug, mama. I can feel how worried you are, especially after what you went through before. Brown discharge in early pregnancy can actually be quite common. it’s usually old blood, and many mums do go on to have healthy pregnancies. But given your history and what your doctor mentioned about possible threatened miscarriage, it’s really understandable you feel anxious. It’s good that you’ve already seen a doctor and are on progesterone. just continue taking it as prescribed and try to rest as much as you can. If the discharge stays light and doesn’t turn bright red or heavy, that’s usually more reassuring. But if you notice fresh bleeding, strong cramps, or anything that feels off, please go back earlier or head to emergency for peace of mind. For the nausea, even small sips of fluids or plain foods (like crackers) can help. don’t stress too much about eating a lot right now, hydration is more important. About carrying your toddler, don’t feel guilty. You’re not a bad mum for being careful. If you can, try to minimise lifting for now and get help where possible. Your body has been through a lot, and it’s okay to protect yourself and your baby. The waiting is honestly the hardest part. You’re doing everything you can right now. Hoping for a reassuring update at your next scan

i was prescribed progeestrone pills too but i was vomiting so bad i could not take anything. So i stop and around the same time my spotting stop too. So when i went for check up with my gyane i told him didnt take it. He say its ok, no choice also. U try to drink non carbonated 100plus or mayb can buy celtic salt add abit to your water for hydration. I also have a thermal flask beside me so i can try to sip some warm water as and when. Yes i was very consitpated too cos whatever i eat all vomit out. There is no input. Felt super weak & my gyane gave me vitamin drips as well. I was crying everyday & really at e brim of giving up. The constant vomiting, hunger, insomnia & coughing is making my vomiting worse. But after seeing e TCM i felt alot better & finally able to eat at least a full meal & nw i can eat 2 meals. U can try some plain food, meiji biscuits, some plain rice (my tcm reccomanded to eat plain white rice for energy), mayb small bites of banana, buy some sugar free mint sweet

I had brown discharge and mild bleeding during week 7, 8 and 11. Doc also said it’s threaten miscarriage and I was on duphaston 3 times per day all the way until week 16. Since doc mentioned nothing can be done to avoid it, I just tried my best not to think about it and lead life as per normal, but I stayed at home most of the time. Now I’m in week 26.

I’m in my 23 weeks, after a day of sneezing it appeared to have small light brownish discharge. Should I be going Ane or observe for now ?

Can be normal. Brown means old blood. So less worrying than fresh red bleeding. Could be implantation remnants or cervical sensitive
