Hi mummies any hospital or places (free/ subsidised/ payable) to reccomand classes for new parents to take care new born? Must we be delivering at the same hospital to be entitled for free classes? TIA!

Hi El! Great that you are planning ahead, it makes such a difference to feel prepared before baby arrives. No, you do not have to be delivering at the same hospital to attend their antenatal classes. Most hospitals and organisations open their classes to all parents regardless of where you are delivering. Here are some options across different price ranges: Free or subsidised options: KKH, NUH and SGH all offer antenatal and parenting classes, some of which are subsidised or even free for Singapore Citizens and PRs. Topics typically covered include newborn care, breastfeeding, infant CPR and labour preparation. You can call their respective women's health departments to ask about the schedule and fees. Subsidised community options: Health Promotion Board runs programmes and resources for new parents at very low or no cost. Family Service Centres in your area sometimes run parenting and newborn care workshops too. Paid but popular options: Antenatal classes by certified doulas and lactation consultants are widely available and often more intimate and detailed. Many mummies find these very worthwhile especially for breastfeeding support. For newborn care specifically, the most practical things to cover are bathing, swaddling, safe sleep, reading baby cues and breastfeeding basics. Night baby sitter/ confinment nanny

Hi any mummies have any reccommandations for good cantonese/ chinese confinment nannys? Or any night baby sitter to take care newborns for just night feeds? For around 30-40days in july/aug 2026. TIA!

Hi Mumma. From what I’ve seen, live-in confinement nannies typically handle night feeds as part of the package, so you can rest, while part-time/day nannies usually don’t cover overnight unless specially arranged

Kkh midnight drips

Hi does anyone knows if i walk in to kkh midnight for drips, will that be expensive? & will they take me in? I am feeling weak & dizzy whatever i have eaten today all vomit out...

hi! just saw your post. they will give u drips but best to be admitted so that they can deduct from medisave instead. i didnt know that it will be that exp until ive got the bill. it cost me $300++ so if u are able to req to be admitted, pls do.

10 weeks pregnant

Currently 10 weeks pregnant. I feel like i canot do this anymore. 24/7 feeling unwell, insomnia, heart burn, cant swallow much, vomiting, even drinking water also puke, cant stand e smell of foods, even shower gels & shampoos. Coughing with white phlegm. Feel horrible 😭

Same here have random bouts of nausea especially with water. Jiayous! Try coconut water too or any other “less cooling” herbal drinks like water chestnut shld be ok. I asked my gynae she just say drink whatever i want. Else try flavoured milk / soy milk - at least get some protein and fluid in
