can i do gel manicure during pregnancy?
Hi mummies! I'm almost 23 weeks pregnant, just want to check can I do gel manicure? Heard some say the UV light is harmful, some say can do gel manicure. Not really sure though...
Hmm, I would say it’s best to avoid. But it’s totally up to you, if you can take the smell. Probably try to face your tummy away from the UV light. *Some people probably have the mindset “I want to look pretty during delivery” but dont do after week 36/37 because it will be inconvenient while taking care of baby and you probably wouldn’t want baby to inhale the polish 😅*
Read morepersonally I don't have the habit of doing manicure even pre pregnancy except during special occasions.. but I do have friends who does gelish manicure during their pregnancy and baby is born healthy and perfectly fine. Perhaps can shift the UV to avoid direct contact to the tummy.
I went for gel mani and pedi during my last pregnancy. Actually no issues. But nurses will remove it just before delivery coz need to monitor blood and oxygen flow.
