Abnormal sleeping patterns

Hi mummies! I’m 25 weeks pregnant and I realised that in the last few weeks I have had trouble staying asleep. I used to be able to sleep for 8-9 hours straight! But nowadays, I find myself waking up after 5 hours and have been finding it really hard to go back to sleep each time. Now I hover around 5-6 hours of sleep daily. Will my baby be okay with the lesser sleep? Anyone else have this?

Totally normal at 25 weeks, honestly, the disrupted sleep is just your body preparing you for what's coming. I went through the same thing and my baby was absolutely fine, but the lack of sleep itself can make you feel quite anxious so don't stress too much about that part. What helped me was accepting I wouldn't sleep like before, so I stopped fighting it and just rested when I could during the day instead of lying in bed frustrated. The frequent bathroom trips and that uncomfortable feeling no matter which side you lie on is just pregnancy doing its thing, but if you're really worried about how you're coping, might be good to mention it to your gynae just so they know you're not getting enough rest. Lots of mums go through this phase and baby ends up perfectly healthy, so you're in good company.
