Bathe baby with umbilical cord

Hi mummies, ftm here. Usually how do you give your baby a bathe when the umbilical cord is still there? Do you still use baby bath tub, and let water run down the whole body as per normal as long as the umbilical area is not submerged in water will do? And do you use body wash? Thank you. #firsttimemom

You can avoid putting too much water on it until it falls off on its own but you can definitely shower the baby while it is there. Just wipe it with cotton ball dipped in warm water and keep the area clean

I put baby in bath tub and do wipe down all over until her cord falls off (5th day). Keep the belly area clean and dry, wipe with alcohol wipes until the cord fells off. 😊

u can wipe the cord with cotton balls dipped in boiled water and avoid putting too much water on it while bathing. Make sure u dry it properly

yes bath tub with cushion, cord can touch water just make sure to dry it well after. very minimal soap, just one 10c sized pump

i will use cotton ball to wipe from inner to outer surface.
