Baby wont look at the person holding him

Any mummies experience this with their baby? My baby will look at me, smile, track my movement etc whenever he is lying down on bed or changing mat. But if i carry him in lying position on my arms, he will look everywhere and not at me no matter how hard i tried to get his attention. This happens even if i am sitting down and not walking around. He is 3mth + . Is this normal?

Yes! Still very early for eye contact. He’ll always look elsewhere and because theyre simply curious! Same for my bb but no problem at all, he’ll slowly learn to look at you and smile and even slowly babble. When you hold bb can try talk talk slowly
