I almost didn’t buy (also FTM here) because I thought I’ll be breastfeeding from the breasts anyway but wow, really needed it- I pumped during the first few days when I need to get the colostrum and then early milk out. Baby is sleeping a lot so can’t do the job. Then no sucking means milk will take longer to produce. Then you’ll also need for times when your breasts are clogged and baby is sleeping.
If you don’t intend to go out without your child and can latch on demand, you won’t need one. However, if you need to go out for a few hours and is comfortable with formula milk or if your child sleeps through the night, you might need to use a pump to be comfortable with the engorgement. If not, you can do hand expression but it will be quite tiring.
Yes a must. I didn’t bought one too, thought manual pump is enough and I’m very wrong. Thankfully my sister has one so I borrowed hers until I bought mine. It’s not expensive to get one, you can get Real Bubee ones that cost about $20? But it won’t be as good as hospital grade ones although I find it sufficient enough.
If you will go back to work then it's a must. If you don't work it's still recommended to have for emergencies or when you're out and can't breastfeed baby. If you don't want to invest too much can get a basic hand pump
Yes of course! Even you choose to latch for each feeds but sometimes you will have more supply than what baby needs to drink. You have to pump out the excess so that you won't have breast engorgement. Invest in one :)
Its best to have. You can use the pump to stimulate milk production during the first few days. And subsequently use it if you are engorged.
Yes. U'll never know if u can latch directly. What if baby sleeping and u are engorged? U need it if u are working too. Unless u hand express.
Not really necessary if u are FTM. Using breast pump poses a higher risk of bacterial infection as compared to direct latch.
Yes fr the first few wks. Othr than tt im nt using pumps anymore. Just direct latch. My bby boy is a heavy milk drinker🤣🤣
Best to have.. in case of low supply, you would wanna use the breast pump to help increase milk supply..
