IUCD - effective/side effect?

Hi mummies, anyone did iucd before or is currently using? What was it like ? Is it painful during insertion? Any side effect ? And did you manage to stay pregnant-free? I read that only iucd does not contain hormone. Does it affect sex? Like painful or anything

I had the copper IUCD inserted at KKH after my second kid and yes, the insertion is uncomfortable, like a sharp cramp that lasts a minute or two, but it passes quickly. I have been on it for three years now with no issues, periods are a bit heavier the first few months but it settled down, and sex feels completely normal for both me and my husband.
