Lost sense of taste
Hi mummies! This is my 2nd pregnancy and this is different!!! Omg…I can’t even eat anything besides oats and fruits.😭 At what week can I have my taste back and what are your recommendations to tackle back this problem?

Most mums I know found the taste loss eased up somewhere around week 14 to 16, once the hormones start to level off in the second trimester, so hopefully you are almost there! The metallic or dulled taste is quite common in the first trimester and does tend to sort itself out, though the timing varies a little from person to person. My friend who just had her second last year said cold or room-temperature foods actually tasted better to her than hot ones during that phase, so she leaned on chilled fruits and yoghurt until things improved. It is worth trying tart flavours like lemon or lime too, as some mums found that helped cut through the weird taste and made eating more manageable. Hang in there, second trimester usually brings a real turning point!
