Thyroid issue

As a mum, I’m worried about my high calcium levels, and my doctor mentioned checking my parathyroid glands. When is surgery needed, and what tests helped confirm the cause?

I had high calcium levels last year due to an overactive parathyroid gland. My blood tests showed the problem, and further tests helped confirm the cause. Dr Luke Tan recommended surgery because the gland was producing too much hormone and my calcium levels remained high. I had the surgery and needed follow-up blood tests afterwards. I had my treatment with Dr Luke Tan, a Thyroid Surgeon in Singapore. Have you had your parathyroid hormone levels and vitamin D checked? It’s worth discussing these tests with your doctor to find out if surgery is necessary.
