Do we need to engage a paediatrician upon giving birth?

My mum asked me if I engaged a PD. Said when she gave birth to me, her gynae asked where the PD was. Is there this need? #1stimemom

I let the gynae arrange for me 1st pregnancy is PD 2nd pregnancy is midwife I strongly recommend to engage PD instead of midwife as PD is more professional
