Moms, were some of you not really domesticated when you got married (couldn't clean/cook/do laundry/etc)? How did you adjust?

My mooooooooooom! But you would not believe me when you try her home cooked dishes. When she and my dad got married, she didn't know how to cook even egg! She told me that she and my dad just ate take outs for two months. My dad told her that he can't survive like that forever so he and my mom bought cook books and practiced together.
