Weight loss and gynae recommendation

Hi all mamas to be! Am around 5 weeks pregnant but have been losing weight pretty consistently (have lost about 2kg+ in the past two weeks) even though I don’t have any nausea or food aversions (have been eating normally if not more) - is this normal? Also does anyone have any thoughts on Dr Lee Jiah Min from The O&G Specialist Clinic?

Weight loss in early pregnancy without nausea is a bit unusual, so I'd definitely bring this up with your gynae at your next visit or call them to check in sooner, just to be safe. A few of my mum friends have seen different doctors at various clinics and they always say it's better to flag anything that feels off rather than wait, especially in the first trimester when things are still settling. Can't speak to Dr Lee specifically, but the O&G Specialist Clinic is a well-known place so you could always ask around your mum circles or check reviews to see if she's a good fit for you. Hope everything's fine and this is just one of those pregnancy quirks.

On the weight loss, even without nausea, early pregnancy can affect your body in unexpected ways, so it's best to flag this to your gynae ASAP since 2kg in two weeks is worth checking out! As for Dr Lee Jiah Min, she's super experienced: a Senior Consultant with over 22 years in O&G, and has done more than 8,000 laparoscopic surgeries! She was also previously a Senior Consultant at KKH's Minimally Invasive Surgery department, so she's really the real deal! You'd be in great hands, mama
