Announcement Of Pregnancy

Just to know if mommies(to-be) out there experience the same? #1 and bump is not showing yet at this time. Prefer not to announce until bump is obvious. But this poses frustrations sometimes like feeling that no one takes care/concern/understanding towards me (unlike how we would treat others who are pregnant) eg. Family making comments about fussy eating when needed to avoid certain 'unsafe' food, colleagues/friends making nasty/unnecessary comments which you won't say to an expecting woman. Felt upset at times. What's your experience?

You can't blame others for their ignorance. Some people are fat, but not pregnant. Some people are thin but pregnant. Not everything is about us. If you want people to be sensitive to your needs, you need to vocalise them. People cannot read our minds. If you want to keep it a secret, then need to deal with your expectations.

I announced mine when I found out because I didnt want people to think I’m being difficult with the sudden change in diet/lifestyle. Glad I did because my first trimester was horrible and I spent alot of time in bed, plus I was living at my inlaws’ place. Luckily my inlaws were very understanding.

My bump was not visible however one of my colleague super nosey one was suspecting but I ignored it. However after I announced on my 4th month everyone turn to be very nice and caring towards me. So I guess announcing also got good points haha!

Just tell your family member will do.. As for me i did not tell my friends at all.. Only family member.. 😊

Okay to announce if you're accepting of people's knowledge if touchwood something bad happens.

I announce after 1st trimester, so that people will be more “understanding”.
