Is being clingy also a symptom of a teething baby?

Being clingy is not just a sign of teething , it is just a normal phase of babies. My gal suddenly became very clingy around 7-8mo. Whenever I left her side she will cry. It gets worse as separation anxiety sets in and they get wary of strangers. Teething babies may be clingy because they are uncomfortable and need comfort from mommy.
