KKH Subsidy vs. Malaysia Private Clinics – Which is Better for Pregnancy Check-Ups?

Hi, I’m a Malaysian PR. Just wanted to check if it’s worth doing routine pregnancy check-ups at KKH with a subsidy, or if it’s better to go to private clinics in Malaysia (e.g., Regency Hospital). Also, for those who go to KKH, is the consultation fee always the same (flat rate of $93), or does it vary each visit? Would love to hear experiences from others who have done either! Any advice on costs, wait times, and overall care quality would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Wah honestly this one quite hard to advise lah, because it really depends on your situation, like how far you stay from KKH and whether the travelling is too jialat during pregnancy. I am PR as well and did my antenatal at KKH subsidised and the care quality is really good, the specialists there very experienced, but the waiting time can be quite long lor, sometimes half a day gone just like that. For the fees I got the package price. 6x antenatal consult with ultrasound scan, 6 x urine dipstick for glucouse and protein, 20 week detailed scan for structural anomaly. blood test to check for gd. price was $738. KKH is def cheaper than the local private hospitals by about 30-40%. But not sure about Malaysia. Maybe call KKH directly to clarify hor, they also have an online calculator you can use.
