When should you get tested for colorectal cancer?

I’m in my 40s and recently started wondering whether I should be screened for colorectal cancer. I don’t have any major symptoms, but there is a history of bowel problems in my family, which has made me a little concerned. For those who have gone through screening, what made you decide to see a doctor, and what kind of tests did they recommend?

Screening is important, especially when bowel problems run in the family. I had persistent constipation and occasional rectal bleeding, so I consulted Dr Chew Min Hoe, who performed a colonoscopy to check for polyps and identify the cause. I’m grateful for his professional care and guidance, which made me feel comfortable and reassured throughout the process. Glad I got checked early! 😊
