Shared Parental Leave

Hi all, I’m a FTM working full-time and 34 weeks today. Looking to apply maternity leave from 37 weeks onwards and then 4 weeks SPL afterwards (remaining with 2 weeks SPL). This year April 2025 onwards as parents are given 6 weeks SPL, my husband decided to give me his share and I will have the full 6 weeks. I would like to know for the remaining 2 weeks SPL I am planning to keep, can I use it like normal annual leave to take anytime? (To use when I have to settle matters for baby) Or how do I go about using the remaining 2 weeks SPL? Thanks! 😊 #firsttimemom

Ya, you can take it in block or flexible (eg. Take it like AL /a few days in a week) after you exhausted your maternity leave. If I’m not mistaken, need to take finish within a year. And I think it also depends on your company policy and your boss’s approval.
