Generally it’s considered safe, as only a very small amount gets absorbed through the scalp 😊 But many doctors do suggest waiting until after the 1st tri just to be extra cautious. If you do go ahead, you can minimise exposure by doing highlights so it doesn’t touch the scalp, choosing ammonia-free dyes, and making sure the area is well ventilated. If you’re unsure, best to check with your gynae for peace of mind!

This is up to your personal comfort level. I only dyed my hair during trimester 2 and opted for ammonia free hair dye at the salon!

Keep about 1-2 cm away from the roots and it should be fine. Be in a well ventilated room and best to use the natural hair dye

I used organic no ammonia box hair dye during trimester 1 but avoided the roots and scalp area, am on week 21 now and all fine

My gynae advised on any form of hair colouring during pregnancy ☹️
