pregnant wife 10 weeks bleeding

I’m a first-time dad here and I’m honestly a bit anxious. My wife is currently 10 weeks pregnant, and for the past few days she’s been spotting — like light bleeding, sometimes reddish, sometimes brownish. It’s not heavy, but it happens almost every day now. She says she feels okay otherwise – no cramps or anything – and we’ve already booked a check-up, but that’s only in a few days’ time. Just wondering if any other mummies or daddies experienced this? Is this normal or should we be more concerned? She’s been trying to rest more, I’ve been helping with housework and trying not to stress her out. But I can’t help feeling a bit scared lah… We had a miscarriage once before and I just don’t want to go through that again. Appreciate any advice or similar experiences. Thank you 🙏

In my first pregnancy I had light spotting and discharge 1st trimester (old blood) and bright red bleeding 2nd trimester (placenta previa). If she is not cramping i feel its ok but if u are truly concerned just head to KKH a&e (although be prepared for a long wait). All the best ❤️

Hey, you’re doing great by being so supportive. I had light spotting during both my pregnancies, and my gynae said as long as there’s no pain or heavy flow, it’s usually okay. But always good to get checked for peace of mind.

It’s good that your wife is not having cramps. I had brown spotting for a few weeks and doc said it might be old blood. But if it gets heavier or turns bright red, go A&E right away just to be safe!

I understand your worry… My wife also had spotting during her first trimester. Turned out it was implantation bleeding and nothing serious. But I get how scary it can be, just hang in there!

Hi! I had a similar thing in my second pregnancy. Every time I saw a bit of blood I panicked, but now my girl is 5! Always better to check but don’t worry too much unless it gets worse.

You sound like a very caring husband. I had bleeding too and it was due to a low-lying placenta. Had to be on bed rest for a while. Better to avoid heavy lifting and too much movement....

Not all bleeding is bad. Mine was from a small blood clot in the womb, and it cleared by itself. Just try to stay calm and remind your wife she’s doing her best.

Hi! I had the same experience, light bleeding daily during week 9–11. Was super anxious, but baby is now 3 months old and healthy. Just monitor and rest more!

We had a similar scare at week 8… rushed to KKH and thankfully baby was fine. It was called a subchorionic hematoma. Your check-up will give better clarity.

I know it’s stressful. My hubby was also super anxious, but trust your gynae. Maybe you can see if you can move the appointment earlier for peace of mind?
