If a child is born with certain weakness or disability whose fault it is?

Agreed, I don't think it's anyone's fault. It is just science — you don't know which gene of which parent is being passed on to the kid. Our society usually blames mothers for any weakness the child might have. Either the mom didn't eat well during pregnancy or she ate too much or exercised too much, slept in a particular position or didn't sit well. Oh, too many! It's time we brush these stigmas aside and accept our children as they are. If there is a disability, instead of playing the blame game, we should focus on providing a nurturing environment to the child.

I personally think that it's no one's fault really. It doesn't mean that a couple who is healthy and able-bodied will produce healthy and able-bodied children. And it doesn't always mean that less than healthy parents will produce sick or weaker babies. Some say it's science, some say it's a luck of the draw. I am a person of faith and to me, children no matter how they are, are all gifts from God. I know it sounds cheesy but I believe that God will not give us situations we cannot handle. And I personally believe that this applies to babies born with disabilities.

Nobody's fault. It's simply destiny....praarabdh. I can understand how people, especially in-laws....relatives can be cruel and making your life hell. But, even though easier said than done.....you have to become a wall and just concentrate on your child. Remember You are the child's Only Life. It's the child's birth right. You should shower all love and care. Pretending that it's just the child and you for each other in this world.

Its no ones fault. Sometimes few things are beyond are control. No logic or reasoning works for it. One can "blame" the chromosomes if at all it is chromosomal aberration. Otherwise, its just destiny.
