I think my husband has selective hearing. Especially when it involves my family and we always ends up fighting.

I second the "talk to your husband about it" thing. My husband use to also have preferential responses with respect to the things of my family. So I talked to him about being fair and stuff and I hear him out about his reasons for having only paying X attention thinking it is enough. Maybe u can be more explicit about what u prefer him to be concerned about or the response u hope he has. I know it sounds fake but it is a start so that he knows examples of what matters and are important to you so that he knows how to respond appropriately. For all u know, he is selective hearing about his own family too ;)
