Do I need a blood test for hCG to confirm my pregnancy?

Depends on individual. I tested my urine at home with the pregnancy test kit and went to GP after where she took my blood test to confirm my pregnancy. Based on the hCG values, can somewhat know how far along are you although it’s not as accurate as an ultrasound scan.
