Strange Experience Kk/Thomson

I had undiagnosed diabetes (I didn't get diagnosed but I was bringing it down with diet control and exercise and it was coming down). Then I got preg. And I went to check my sugar immediately and it was high. Went to Thomson gynae for first visit and she wasn't too concerned. She said don't need meds. She asked me to exercise and cut down on carb. Then happened to go KK emergency because had some discharge. KK doc was very worried about sugar and now I am going to follow up at KK for the sugar (subsidised). At appt with my Thomson gynae, she said if KK prescribes meds.. Just take. Wondering how she went from no meds to take meds. :/ that means if I didn't go KK I would have been doing a disservice to my baby....

Hi just would like to share that i failed my sugar level test by a mere 0.1 at kkh and they were so strict about it. I had it go to ogt class and even buy a blood test kit along with learning how to eat a balance meal. Even had to go follow up with a dietician to make sure i was eating right when i was pregnant. I always hear pple ard me saying that kkh is bad etc but to think about it, i am so thankful till today that they were very strict about this. I wouldn’t know what will happen to my baby if i continue to eat unhealthy food. For now please continue to monitor your sugar / carbs intake. Do your blood readings regularly. Take long walks after each meal to help bring down your sugar level and i’m sure all will be well :) all the best and take care!
