I worked as a chef in a luxury high end restaurant while I was pregnant. And finally quit when I was 17 w because I couldn't take the standing, bending, squating, carrying heavy items and going in out of cold chillers and freezers anymore. Even when my colleagues said I could take a rest and sit down, it still didn't feel right. so I didn't even when I felt terrible during my pregnancy. I'm glad they were understanding, but if I were to call for help whenever i needed them, they will be doing 90% of my job. I'm so happy with that decision. I'm less stressed and I get more rest. I know not everyone can afford to do the same , but I really hope you will get better soon. ❤️ stay strong mama.

I’m also like that when I pregnant , and I used up my MC and HL , in the end , the company penalized me for using too many MC and HL during my pregnancy and didn’t upgrade my ranking when everyone else in my branch got the upgrade (it’s like a promotion) . And it seems like I’m not the one facing this kind of issue , seeing the reply here seems like all mummy facing the same issue and especially at frontline , we will feel stress up and worst if we hv colleague that don’t understand and company that say one thing and do another. I really sometimes hope that the gov will hv some mandatory leave or MC for pregnancy so that we won’t face this kind of issue

Its sad that your workmates are like that. My workmates have always been supportive of my pregnancy. They even encourage rest if needed even my chief! :) They said my health is the most important. I am currently in my 17th week too! Im really grateful that I have no morning sickness since day 1. That's why sometimes I can't believe I'm preganant. Haha. Although I'm quite okay with waking up early for work, when I'm in the office when I feel pain it makes me want to go home but thankful that it subsides in a while. What i don't like are leg cramps whenever I wake up when I stretch my legs :( the pain lingers through the whole day.

I'm not experiencing leg cramps anymore after maintaining calciumade as per OB's advice. I'm on my 24th week now. My problem now is constipation huhuhu.

I feel you. My work is in Sales for 4 yrs already. My bosses already have their kids but sometimes I feel that they are inconsiderate of my condition. I still have to go outside and do a field work visiting our clients and I have to do 10 and up visits every week! Take note some of their offices doesnt have elevators. I would feel depress then and very tired after a long day. Sometimes, I would think of resigning but my partner wouldn't let me do that right now because of the maternity benefit i will be getting once I give birth. Sometimes I would feel sad too because I feel that no one understands my feelings right now.

Hi there.. i am in the exact same situation :(( Can you share with me how you cope with the situation? Have you given birth? If not how far are you from EDD?

I'm at 17th weeks din po... and making a living is quite hard.. you feel so tired but you can't just quit your job since you need to earn more this time... Gaya ngayon .. Pinapagawa kami ng head teacher namin ng test papers via Google forms, d naman siya mahirap and yakang yakang lang naman yung workloads... kaso ang hirap kalabanin ng katamaran.. iniisip ko nalang... PAANO NA YUNG MONTHLY VITAMINS NG BABY KO IF MAG QUIT AKO NG JOB? pag naaalala ko yung reason why do I need to keep my job... paunti unti kong natatapos 😊😊😊 wag kang sumuko momshie! kaya natin to! para sa future ni baby...

Kaya yan mommy 😊😊😊. Now on my 17th week as well. I can't say i'm totally fine becoz I am experiencing back pain, my nipples are painful, I'm having a hard time sleeping since I can't find the right position to sleep. I have heartburn, indigestion and constipation most of the time, lagi dn aq gutom plus the headaches. Good thing, work from home ang set up nmin ngayon so I work whenever I can. My hubby is also supportive so less house chores for me. Every week is really different pero kakayanin ko for our baby. God bless po.

Hi all mummies , Thank you all for the encouragement, I’m the mummy that posted this . I’ve already given birth to a baby girl on dec, and yes , I agree that we just hv to ignore them . Really .. but just disappointed that I can’t get to promote cause my boss said I took too many HL and MC this year . And gave the chance to another person . :( but well , I see my baby girl I happy liao .. hehe . Jia you to all the mummies that is going through what I’ve went through before ! And remember . What goes round comes round and it’s true !

Please is better u resign is than ur health and the baby health too. My first pregnant happened to lead to stillbirth becoz of work and the stress, my boss was so strict he dont care if u are okay or not , sometime i have to managed my self just to satisfy my boss so that he want talk or have any issues with me, at the end of my pregnancy d baby is weak and stressed becoz i dont have chance to rest at all. All my boss will is sorry, But in this second one i have to resigned immediately i missed my period. Please d early the better for u both. Wish us safe delivery ijn

Oh dear so sorry to hear that. Jia you mummy !

I have PhD and I know I won't be able to commit 100% so I took a year off just for my pregnancy. Others call me stupid and selfish but I regret nothing. Now I spent time just reading and preparing for our baby. I'm glad that I bravely took this path despite all others say otherwise. They always say pregnancy is easy, and now I'm in it, it is not easy! Perhaps it's nothing for others, but for me, I know my own capacity.

Thank you for your support. It's nice to learn there are people outside my world who understand and to know that I'm not alone. Bottom line I think it's up to us, because it's our body and our baby, others can say anything they like. I wish you all the best. 🙂 P.s. I'm 34yo and yup my first time too 🤗
