How soon after a c-sec can you start training again? Is it normal for the tummy to hang over the scar? Any good tips on how to get the tummy back to being flat?

Like what Idza mentioned, it is best to refrain from exertion within the first six weeks after a c-section to aid in the recovery of your body. That being said, your scar tissue could benefit from being gently flexed which could help knit your scar together. This can be achieved by simply standing up straight and doing some gentle abs exercises. During the six weeks period, you can try taking short five-minute walks and gradually increasing the duration if you feel up to it. Aerobic exercises should be attempted in short durations. The effects of pregnancy hormones may affect your joints for up to six months after birth. Hence, high-impact exercises should be avoided. After the first six weeks, you can try adding ab exercises such as gentle sit-ups that work your upper abs. Still, be careful not to overdo it. Try doing 10 as a start and listen to your body. If you are considering returning to strength training exercises, you should pay close attention to your body. Start light and at a low frequency. Keep the duration to no more than 15 minutes and adjust accordingly. Do not push your body and allow time for recovery. Refrain from doing strenuous exercise or heavy lifting in the first 6-8 weeks after the operation as the body needs time to heal. However, as soon as you feel up to it, you can practise pelvic floor exercises. This can help ease the strain caused during pregnancy. Every time you lift your baby, tighten your pelvic floor muscles and lower tummy muscles at the same time. Once you feel comfortable with pelvic floor exercises, you can begin to work on your lower tummy muscles, which will help to strengthen your back. Kegels and walking are good and safe ways to lose weight after a c-section as well. http://www.ladycarehealth.com/safe-exercises-after-a-c-section/1347218754000/
