Is a baby carrier necessary?

How often do you use your baby carrier, and how helpful is it? While imagining myself caring for the baby, it seems most of the time the baby will be in the cot, transported in the pram, or being rocked in the arms, so I am wondering if this is a necessary investment.

Depends on your baby. My son used to be on the pram most times and does not like to be in a carrier. While for his baby brother, he can only be in the pram not for too long so most times when we're going out I will babywear him but will also bring along the pram in case I get tired from babywearing him or if he sleeps.

it comes in handy when baby is bigger/heavier and it is a hassle to use a stroller
