How long does your kid takes to adapt to school? I just sent my kid to playgroup. The teacher commented that she was crying and needed to be carried all time. She refused to eat as well. I am feeling kinda of worried whether she could adapt to her school soon.

Hi, I think the teacher may have made a passing comment and she did not actually mean to complain as no one better than parents and teachers know that it is such hard time for kids and each kid takes his/her own time to adjust. When I started my job when my baby was one and a half year old, I had to take 20 days of leave immediately after 4 or 5 days of my joining because my baby was not adjusting at all. I had to go along with her to the daycare and had to be there for a few hours to see her okay. Then I would go home and come back again to make her feel that I am around. Since, I had morning to evening job, I had to make her adjust well. Please, do not worry, it is separation anxiety, new environment, new people, actually so many new things happening to the baby at the same time. You got to have patience and show immense love for the child to make him adjust, and teacher plays a vital role in making the whole process smooth, since, she would be the one with whom the baby would be spending her entire day with.
