I just do what is necessary. Bath is important to me, and good hygiene speeds up episiotomy recovery. It is is also my me-time. Food-wise, I'm looking after 2 kids alongside with the baby...so I just eat to not feel hungry, and have whatever that is available... I do have more water and cereal drink and the longan n red dates drink as milkbooster. Most importantly is to get as much rest as you can in the 1st month and bond with the baby... :)

I just gave birth about a month ago and I did not follow any confinement rules. I gave birth in another country and did not have any help postpartum. we couldn't find a confinement nanny either. I showered every other day and was breastfeeding as well. The first 2 weeks was tough cause I wasn't eating right and not getting enough rest but by the 3rd week it got better. I am also concerned about not doing confinement but I didn't really have a choice.

I followed strict confinement rules for 2 weeks but after 2 weeks I did do some adjustments to the rules after sending the confinement lady back due to hygiene reasons. I started taking my showers daily as I felt sticky and oily to breastfeed my daughter and also started sleeping in air-con room with my daughter when I noticed her sweating badly. I would conclude that it is not critical to follow the 1 month confinement rule.

i didn't follow a strict confinement regime. I just ate whatever my mother in law cooked. Just everyday normal food with more ginger. I still bathe as per normal. I wash my hair every alternate day. Life still goes on as per normal. Best to keep your emotions happy as during the confinement month, our hormones are going up and down and we may be tired with baby also

I engaged confinement lady for my first 2 kids and intend to DIY for my no.3 since I have experiences already. Some rules I followed strictly during confinement are: - wear socks and long sleeve - no direct blowing of fan - drink hot soups and hot drinks to keep myself warm - bath using chinese herbs - avoid walking too much and rest as much as possible to make my body recovers faster

I didnt do very strict confinement. I still went out during confinement but not for long hours as physically will get tired out easily as well. But I did followed the confinement food (even though I had some cheat days whereby I ate outside food). Other than that, I followed the confinement like no intake of plain water and showering with the herbal only on the 12th day and the last day.

I secretly showered during confinement as I felt it was important to maintain hygiene during breastfeeding. Food wise, I ate everything that my confinement lady prepared for me. To be honest I felt that my body became stronger than pre-pregnancy. I was less lethargic and had a lot more vitality, I strongly believe it was due to the diet and the tonics I took during confinement!

Could u share the contact details of ur CL please?

i dont follow.. I tried 3 days and i almost got depression ... so i bath , in hospital and sleep in aircon room too.. But for food i take 2 weeks confinement food and lots of drinks ..After all those confinement rules are just pass down but old people and in this century no one really follow. For angmo ... they dont do confinement and they are also fine . So yup ..

I only drank v warm plain water, wore socks and bedroom slippers & long pants. Hair tied up tightly. Showered once a day (before 12pm) I went thru Csect so first 2 weeks ate only soup and steam fish. Since CB, doesn't make any difference to stay home lol. Confinement helps me get the rest I need. Also when your bby is asleep after feeding, do sleep as well. 😉
