How to clean inside of baby's ear?

I only ever clean the outside of my daughter's ears, using a warm damp cloth. I take her to the paediatrician to have the inside of her ears cleaned. It is not recommended to clean the inside of your child's ears with Q-tips as you can accidentally damage the ear drum.
