Haha this is such a common concern for new mummies, I also was so scared to touch my baby's ears at first! For the exterior part you can gently wipe with a damp cotton ball or soft cloth during bath time, just clean the outer folds and visible parts only, never ever insert cotton buds or anything into the ear canal because can cause more harm than good lah. As for baby rubbing and touching the ear frequently, it can sometimes indicate ear discomfort or infection especially if accompanied by fever, fussiness, trouble sleeping or pulling ear very hard, so if you notice those signs please bring to PD to check because ear infections in babies are quite common and need proper treatment, better to get it checked early than wait! 😊
